Uniden Fire Tone Out Mode

Your Uniden Scanner might be able to double as a fire desktop pager, but only if you know how to correctly use this feature

Two Tone Alerting

Most of the Fire Dispatching in the US is done on VHF or UHF and uses Two Tone paging as a way of sending alerts.

Motorola, Plectron, and GE are a few companies that have been in the paging business, and all have their own spin on how it is done.

5/6 Alerting

Outside of the US, 5/6 tone is used.  This tone can be sent very quickly.  Many tones can be sent in the same time a single two tone page is sent.
