Uniden Sentinel is the required software for Uniden’s HP line.
To program your HomePatrol-1, HomePatrol-2, BCD436HP, BCD536HP, and the new SDS100 Scanners, you will need the correct version of Sentinel for your scanner model.
For HomePatrol-1 (HP1) and HomePatrol-2 (HP2) Scanners

Alternatives to Sentinel
Sentinel is required if you want to upgrade the firmware on your radio.
If you are looking for an alternative to Sentinel, I use these two pieces of software from BuTel:
ARC-Patrol for the HP-1 and HP-2
ARC536 for the BCD436HP, BCD536HP, and SDS100

Both allow you to easily modify the radio’s scan list and import your own from spreadsheets. The copy/paste feature available in this software is not available in Sentinel.
