Welcome to Session 6 of Scanner School.   In this session we review three desktop and 3 handheld entry level scanner radios that you can use and understand easily from what you have learned in Scanner School Sessions 2 – 5.

We reviewed six radios in this week’s podcast, and out of those radios, my winner is the Uniden BC125AT scanner.

Below are my picks for both Handheld and Desktop Scanners, in order of preference from left to right.

Handheld Scanners

Our “winner” for both the Handheld and Desktop categories combined was the Uniden BC125AT (US), UBC125XLT (UK) and the BC126AT (AUS).

We picked the Uniden BC355N(US), UBC355CLT(UK), UBC355XLT(AUS) as our best pick for the desktop category.  I like the front facing display and that it looked like a traditional desktop scanner.
