Scanning Air Shows

One of my favorite activities is scanning air shows Memorial Day weekend on Long Island means a few things. First, it means remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our great nation. It is a time to reflect on those currently serving, as well as their families. It means setting up the BBQ, catching a parade, or the Jones Beach Air Show. In addition, this is usually the same time as Fleet Week in NYC, so we have a lot of Military service members and air craft in our area! (more…)

Introduction to P25

It goes by several names, but not all of them are correct. Sometimes you will hear P25, Project 25, APCO 25, or "digital". This week's podcast, an "Introduction to P25", runs through the building blocks of a P25 system. P25 is made up of 8 pieces that are interconnected through a series of standards.
