Home / Podcasts / Frequencies and measuring them in Hertz

Welcome to Session 2 of Scanner School.

In this session we talk about Frequencies and how we measure them in Hertz.

We define a frequency, or the number of times something repeats in a given time.   The unit of measure for a frequencies cycles per second is called a Hertz.

A Hertz, named for the German physicist Heinrich Hertz.   We normally see Hertz abbreviated as Hz.  You might have seen kHz, MHz, or GHz written down next to a frequency and we cover what those mean as well
